1. Who we are
TreeLawLeads ("TreeLawLeads," "we," "us") operates treelawleads.com (the "Site"). We are a case-origination company that markets to property owners, screens tree-damage claims, and offers verified case files to law firms. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. Use of the Site is also governed by our Terms of Service. Questions about this policy: hello@treelawleads.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit a form on the Site (sign-up, contact, case request, or newsletter), we collect what you enter: your name, firm name, work email, the states you practice in, firm size, any message you write, and the case you are asking about.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically record technical data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, the site or ad that referred you, and campaign parameters attached to the link you clicked (such as UTM tags or a Google click identifier). When you submit a form, we record the page it was submitted from and the first campaign source that brought you to the Site.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and tracking pixels to keep the Site working, remember how you arrived, measure traffic, and measure whether our advertising leads to enquiries. See Section 6.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your enquiry and, if you ask, to open and manage a case feed for your firm.
- To send you information about available cases, pricing, and our services, including by email and phone.
- To send the Tree Law Brief newsletter if you subscribe. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To measure and improve our marketing, including attributing enquiries to the campaigns that produced them.
- To comply with law and enforce our agreements.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf, such as web hosting, Google Workspace (including Google Sheets, where form submissions are stored), email delivery, and analytics and advertising platforms described below.
- Legal and safety. Where required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TreeLawLeads, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers. If TreeLawLeads is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Information about property-owner claimants is shared with the single law firm that accepts a case, under the terms of our agreement with that firm. Property owners who contact us receive separate notices at the time they do so.
5. Analytics and advertising
We use third-party analytics and advertising services that set cookies and collect usage data through the Site. Depending on our current configuration these may include Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, Google Tag Manager, and Meta (Facebook) Pixel. These providers may combine data collected on the Site with data from other sites to measure ad performance and to show you ads elsewhere.
- Google: how Google uses data from partner sites. Opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on and manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Meta: manage ad preferences at facebook.com/ads/preferences.
6. Cookies and your choices
Cookies used on the Site fall into three groups:
- Essential. Required for the Site and forms to function, including spam protection.
- Attribution. A small record in your browser's local storage of the first campaign source that brought you here (retained up to 30 days) so we can credit the right campaign when you enquire.
- Analytics and advertising. Set by the third parties in Section 5.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; most browsers also let you block third-party cookies specifically. Blocking essential cookies may prevent forms from working. The Site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, though it honors the opt-out mechanisms listed in Section 5.
7. Email and phone communications
By submitting a form you agree that we may contact you by email and, if you provide a number, by phone or text about your enquiry and our services. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message, or by emailing hello@treelawleads.com. We will still send transactional messages about cases you have requested or accepted.
8. Data retention
We keep enquiry and lead records for as long as needed to serve your firm and for a reasonable period afterward to maintain business records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Server logs and spam-protection records are kept for a short period and then deleted. You may ask us to delete your information at any time (Section 10).
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and rate limiting, to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of California and certain other U.S. states have additional rights under state privacy laws, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the analytics and advertising uses described in Section 5.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@treelawleads.com from the address associated with your enquiry. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law.
10a. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising pixels described in Section 5 may be treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California and similar state laws. You can opt out here; your choice is stored in this browser and our tracking snippets are configured to respect it. We also honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out.
To opt out across devices, or to submit an access, correction, or deletion request, email hello@treelawleads.com. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof of authorization.
11. Children
The Site is intended for law firms and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Users outside the United States
The Site is operated from, and our services are offered in, the United States. If you access the Site from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
13. Third-party links
The Site may link to other websites, including statutory sources and third-party services. Their privacy practices are their own; this policy does not apply to them.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be posted on this page, and where appropriate we will notify you by email.
